With Mental Health Awareness Week coming up 13th - 19th May, we decided that our Mindful Colouring Club would love nothing more than to dedicate a full session to this very important cause. We are in the heart of the community, running a weekly mindful colouring class at Tyldesley Library and we know how important it is for people to be able to reach out and feel that they belong. A place to come if you are feeling isolated or anxious, where you can sit down with a cuppa and just enjoy some creativity and a warm welcome. When people gather round the table, the creativity flows and we are able to find our little bit of calm. It is a beautiful thing indeed, to see blank colouring pages spring to life with an array of vibrant colours and the motivational quotes that seem to fill the room with positivity. It is a place of peace and calm and and we look forward to going every week.
Nurture your Mental Health with Creativity
Being creative is a great way to nurture mental health. It can help us express our emotions in healthy ways and make way for healing of the mind, body and spirit. That is why we would love to share with you, these fabulous free printable colouring pages to boost your well-being and inspire you along the way.
Meanwhile at the Mindful Colouring Club..
After creating the affirmations in support of Mental Health Awareness, each member of the group chose one from the collection. We all picked one that resonated with us the most and spent our time choosing colours and being mindful of the words. As you can see the results look incredible. Everyone really enjoyed the experience of working on their special creations. It is always a joy at the end of the session to see people holding up their completed pictures, so that we can all admire and appreciate the loving care that has gone into each and every one. We all hope you can take part too and just enjoy the therapeutic process! You can even hand some of the prints to those people in your life who might just appreciate the kind gesture during Mental Health Awareness Week.

5 Ways Colouring with Affirmations can boost Mental Health
Calming and Relaxing: It helps to quiet the mind and reduce anxiety and stress. The repetitive and rhythmic motions of colouring can have a soothing effect on the body and mind.
Mindfulness: Colouring is a great way to practice mindfulness, which is the act of being fully present and aware of the current moment. Giving you a much needed break from intrusive thoughts.
Creativity and Self-expression: Providing a therapeutic outlet for your emotions, allowing you to express yourself in a non-verbal way.
Boosts Self-esteem: The incorporation of motivational and inspirational affirmations adds an extra dimension to the colouring experience, reinforcing positive thoughts and beliefs, boosting your self-esteem and overall well-being.
Improve mood: Just the act of indulging in some quiet ‘Me Time’ doing something enjoyable and rewarding is enough for your mind and body to release ‘feel good’ hormones that help promote confidence and positive emotions.
